Living in St. Petersburg, buying or selling real estate, homes or condos.

Saint Petersburg has so many faces. I do not know where to begin or where to end. St Pete is divided by Central Ave, it run east to west, all the way from downtown St. Pete to the beach of Treasure Island. Everything north of Central Ave is called North St. Pete and of course everything south of Central is called South St. Pete (we are very logical) Downtown St. Pete is on waters of Tampa bay, east side of Saint Petersburg. The beaches like Treasure island, St. Pete Beach, Madeira beach etc are on the west side, right on the Gulf of Mexico. So, these are the four main areas that we recognize here in Pinellas County Tampabay. I am not going to make it complicated by adding NE or SE neighborhoods or Pink streets or or or, for now I will just focus on Downtown St. Petersburg and the Beaches.

We are talking about two completely different live styles. Downtown is more businesslike, it offers a ton of events, has lots of upscale restaurants and entertainment, museums and art galleries, the Pier and waterfront Parks along the Bay. aerial-the_pierBeginning of April we have our annual Grand Prix car race here in Saint Petersburg Tampa Bay It is an exciting event and it takes the city weeks to prepare for it. When you are in St. Pete and have some time to stroll around you might want to check out all the antic stores and little shops or walk along Beach drive and stop for some ice cream. Downtown is ever changing, right now there are a few high rise waterfront condo buildings added to the skyline. Ovation and Signature, both of them are state of the art, stunning buildings. Price in and walking distance to downtown start in the $300,000 range and go all the way up to a few millions.

The Beaches are very different from Saint Petersburg, we call a 6 story building a high rise, our prices start at $150,000 and go all the way to a few million for single family homes directly on the beach. We have tons of real estate, waterfront condos and homes on the Intracoastal Waterway and the beach. Live is very easy and stress less once you come over the bridge. It is real Island living, nobody cares what you wear or what you do for a living. We have some nice restaurants but most of our places are small, local and average neighborhood restaurants and bars. Living on the beaches feels more like a permanent vacation. Everybody is in a good mood and takes life easy. People come here to fish and spend a day on the beach and go boating, listen to some live music, grab a burger and watch the sunset.
The easiest way to describe the difference between the beach town like St. Pete Beach, Treasure Island, Madeira beach, Redington etc. and Saint Petersburg is  “You wear Flip Flops on the beaches, you wear Prada in downtown.
Tough choice right?  Where do you want to live? Downtown Saint Pete on Tampa bay or in one of our little beach towns on the Gulf of Mexico. Well, the choice is not that tough, it is only a 15 minute drive between the Gulf of Mexico and Tampabay. You can have the best of both worlds. Also, don’t forget, there are lots of nice homes and condo in-between downtown and the beaches. They are less expensive and you only have minutes each way.
