I am outraged.

I will make a long story short.

One of my clients wanted an estimate on the property taxes for a home in Pinellas county Florida before she made an offer.

She call the appraiser's office and was quotes an ridiculously high amount with the explanation that

"taxes are not based on the sales-price but strictly on the comparable sales and that all the distressed sales and  short sales and foreclosures will not be considered as comparable.

Short sales and foreclosures are the reality of todays market – and they do not count?!

Please, if you have a minute call the appraisers office and get an estimate on your home or one of your listings, we need to start the conversation right now.

Florida home owners see their property value drop by the day, they are counting on a big tax drop for the next bill.
