L’Olivier a French Creperie, Lounge and Boutique in St. Petersburg Florida

Yes, a French Bistro right here in downtown St. Petersburg.

The owner, Olivier Cuevas opened his doors in February 2008 after extensive remodeling, he turn the place upside down and created a beautiful French Bistro with an extra ordinary atmosphere, a lot of charm and character.

To me it is like a little oasis right here in busy downtown St. Petersburg.

L’Olivier is in the St. Pete Plaza just east for Baywalk and west of Beach drive. The courtyard setting is just picture perfect for the bistro. Olivier created a beautiful outside sitting area with huge lounge chairs and very comfortable cushions, little tables and even fire places. Once you see this, you just want to sit down and relax with a glass of wine and forget about the rest of the world.

Once you go inside, you truly are in a different world. This “French” St. Pete restaurant is beautifully decorated with items that Olivier imported directly from France. One corner of the bistro is actually a boutique that features all kinds of little things that you can buy. Right next to it is the open kitchen, you can talk to the Chef and you can see how they prepare your food. Talking about food, it is all crepes, sweet and salty ones, from about $8 to $15. L’Olivier has a small but very nice wine list and some really good wine that you can order by the glass.

I love the place, sometimes I go there on a Saturday morning and just sit outside and have a cappuccino, or I go with some friends to have a nice relaxed evening. It is typical French, they do not rush you, and you can take al the time in the world.

I love their deserts, the crepes are just fantastic and they are not too sweet.

Once in a while I just go to have a glass of wine, chat with Olivier or Marie, listen to some old Brigitte Bardo or Edith Piaf songs and soak in the extraordinary beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. This is not just another bistro, this one is authentic, and you do not have to be in Paris to enjoy the French hospitality.

So, next time you are in downtown St. Petersburg, explore L’Olivier’s Bistro and treat yourself to a new experience.
