I am Canadian, can I file homestead in Florida?

Florida is a homestead property, so if an American owns a property and lives in it year around they can file for a partial tax exemption called Homestead.  Foreigners and Americans that use their property as a second home or vacation property can not file for homestead. Canadians or other nationalities who have a green-card and use their Florida Property as a primary residence can file for homestead.
